  • I have this big concrete pillar in my living room. Can you make it disappear?
Well, as it turns out, we did just that! Working with the colours in the client's beautiful area rug, we chose a colour palette to help neutralize the negative elements and highlight the features of the home. Painting the fireplace, pillar and end wall and rearranging the furniture so it flowed better around the pillar made all the difference in the world.
  • My kitchen cabinets are old and tired looking, but in good condition. Is there anything we can do to update our kitchen without breaking the bank?
Short answer - YES! The client cleaned and prepared the cabinets for painting. New handles and pulls were purchased; and hinges painted with Krylon to match the handle finish. The quality of paint these days is amazing. The cabinets were painted with a warm neutral colour; and the walls a stronger neutral colour; a new faucet was installed; the valance was removed from above the kitchen sink; and new lighting was installed. The transformation was dramatic. Best of all, the client was able to complete it within a short timeframe, and it was easy on their budget as well.
  • Our townhouse strata council wants to paint our unit doors, but we can't agree on the colour. How can we decide?
Stand back and look at your building from a distance to determine the colour of the dominant "fixed element." In this case it was their roof and garage roofs which were visible on each unit. As they were keeping the main colour of the building a lighter green / grey, the solution was painting the doors a dark colour that matched the roof. This made the doors much more visible and aesthetically appealing. Providing a colour rendering to the client helped them visualize the finished project and made their decision much easier.
